Second EMX125 victory in a row thanks to Simone Mancini

The picturesque scenery of Arco di Trento hosted the fourth round of the 2024 FIM Motocross World Championship. The hard pack track nestled in the mountains saw an amazing show by the Fantic riders, starting with Simone Mancini’s EMX125 victory and Noel Zanocz keeping the red plate on the Fantic XX 125.

Simone Mancini got off to a perfect start on home soil clinching his first ever pole position. At the start of race 1, the young Italian was quick to place himself in second place. His race pace allowed him to put pressure on his main rival, Simone took over the lead with a few laps to go and grabbed his first ever EMX125 race win. His teammate Noel Zanocz went down on lap 1 after a contact with another rider and had to fight back from last, eventually finishing 13th.

A strong start saw the Fantic duo in the top 5 right at the beginning of the second moto. Zanocz earned himself a second place, while Mancini secured the GP win with a third place in race 2. Zanocz also kept the Championship leader’s red plate.

Simone Mancini: “It was a fantastic weekend, I got the pole position and won the race on Saturday. Today the start was not so good after some contacts with other riders but I managed to come back to P3 and take home the overall. It is my first ever victory, so I am super happy and looking forward to Portugal now.”

Noel Zanocz: “I still hold the red plate so it was not a bad weekend. I had a bit of bad luck yesterday, I crashed at the third corner and had to come back from dead last to P13. In the second moto I got a quite good start, around P5, and I managed to finish second. It was a good race in the end. I will work on the starts for the next round in Portugal.”

After a strong fifth place in Sardinia, Douwe Van Mechgelen struggled to find the right feeling and lap time and, unfortunately, did not qualify for the two races in Trentino.
