FIM EnduroGP adds GP of Portugal to 2025 calendar

The FIM and Prime Stadium Eventos, promoters of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship, are pleased to announce that an additional GP of Portugal will be added to the 2025 schedule, replacing the previously cancelled GP of France and returning the calendar to seven rounds.

Following the recent announcement regarding the cancellation of the GP of France, Prime Stadium Eventos can now confirm that Esganados TT Motoclub will organise the newly instated GP of Portugal in Vila de Rei, Castelo Branco on 12-14 September.

Returning the EnduroGP calendar to seven rounds for 2025, the GP of Portugal will also feature round three of the Expotrade FIM Women’s Enduro World Championship and the Expotrade FIM Junior Women’s Enduro World Cup.

Carla Alvarenga – Prime Stadium Eventos Managing Director: “After the disappointing news that the GP of France could not be held, we’re very happy to announce that it will be replaced by the GP of Portugal in Vila de Rei. Thanks to the hard work of the Esganados TT Motoclub, we have been able to make this possible. Portugal is a country that has a great heritage in enduro, and after enjoying a very successful GP of Portugal in Fafe earlier this year, competitors, teams and fans can look forward to experiencing another taste of Portuguese culture, charm and hospitality in 2025.”

FIM Hard Enduro World Championship
new points system and updated calendar

The FIM Hard Enduro World Championship (HEWC), under the direction of new promoters Hard Enduro Promotions Marketing Management LLC (HEP), is proud to unveil a newly restructured championship points system. Developed in collaboration with the FIM, the update is designed to bring a heightened level of fairness, strategy, and competitiveness across both single-day and multi-day events. The changes are set to debut at the highly anticipated Silver Kings Hard Enduro in the United States.

“Our goal is to raise the sporting standard of the championship, and that starts with ensuring that every day of racing matters,” said a representative of HEP. “This revised system rewards consistency and resilience while enhancing the fan experience and preserving the integrity of results.”

A Spectacular Start in the UK
The 2025 HEWC season roared into action at the Valleys Hard Enduro in the United Kingdom. Germany’s Manuel Lettenbichler proved why he’s the reigning champion, claiming the win ahead of home hero Billy Bolt and Bulgaria’s Teodor Kabakchiev, who rounded out the podium in third.

With that victory, Lettenbichler leads the overall standings, closely followed by Bolt and Kabakchiev, setting the stage for a thrilling title battle as the championship continues across the globe.

Spotlight on Silver Kings: America’s Premier Hard Enduro
The Silver Kings Hard Enduro, hosted in Kellogg, Idaho, serves as the United States’ marquee stop in the HEWC calendar. Set against the rugged terrain of the Silver Mountain Resort, the event is renowned for its steep climbs, technical descents, and unpredictable mountain weather.

Unlike traditional HEWC eventswhere the overall classification is determined by final race placement, Silver Kings features a unique points-based structure:

Each racing segment across the event’s two days contributes to the final score.

The overall winner will be the rider who accumulates the highest total points from all competition stages—not necessarily the first across the final finish line.

This structure emphasizes endurance, consistency, and adaptability, demanding the best from even the most elite riders across every section of terrain.

MANUEL LETTENBICHLER WINS THE 2025 RED BULL ERZBERGRODEO2025 Red Bull Erzbergrodeo

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Manuel Lettenbichler has won the 2025 Red Bull Erzbergrodeo. Taking the lead at the 40-minute mark, the KTM 300 EXC CHAMPION EDITION rider delivered a near-flawless ride to claim his fourth-consecutive victory at the iconic event. FMF KTM Factory Racing teammate Trystan Hart was on course for a podium result, but a small technical issue unfortunately dropped the Canadian down to fifth at the finish.

After comfortably qualifying in the Iron Road Prologue and posting the 11th-fastest time, Lettenbichler secured a place on the front row for Sunday’s main event. The prologue was won by EnduroGP World Championship leader Josep Garcia, who blasted up the hill on his KTM 250 EXC-F to finish seven seconds ahead of second-placed Andrea Verona. 2025 Dakar Rally winner Daniel Sanders placed third on his KTM 450 RALLY.

Conditions were favorable at the start of Sunday’s race, and a strong launch off the line saw Mani move into the top five early on. He soon began chasing down early leader Billy Bolt. Twenty-five minutes into the race, Lettenbichler had passed all but Bolt and was right on the Brit’s rear wheel. As the two rivals entered their first run through the demanding Carl’s Dinner section, a mistake by Bolt allowed Mani to take the lead. From that point on, Lettenbichler was untouchable, steadily extending his advantage and cleaning the later sections with relative ease.

Despite heavy rain falling at around the one hour 20-minute mark, Mani stayed focused and put in a champion’s performance to cover the second half of the race without incident, ultimately crossing the line over 12 minutes ahead of second place. The victory makes it four in a row for the German, one away from the record set by KTM ambassador Taddy Blazusiak.

Manuel Lettenbichler: “It feels amazing to take the win here at Erzberg again. Nothing in hard enduro is guaranteed and I was definitely feeling the pressure here, even before the race. I got a good start, but Billy’s pace at the front was really fast and it took me a while to catch him. I knew when we got into the trees, I’d have a good chance to make a push for the lead. I think Billy made a couple of mistakes and I was able to get ahead. After that I just kept my head down and focused on getting through every section without any issues. The track was perfect this year, I really enjoyed it, and the fans have been incredible as always. That’s four in a row now – I’ve got one more to get to equal Taddy and then a few more wins to beat the record. I’m already looking forward to next year, it’s such an amazing event.”

FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Trystan Hart fought back from a mid-pack start to climb to third place by the Machine section at around one hour into the race. Holding that position and riding smoothly and with great pace over the challenging course, the Canadian began to close in on Bolt in second.

Unfortunately, disaster struck for the 2024 AMA Endurocross Champion with only two checkpoints to go when a small technical issue required Hart to make repairs trackside. Getting underway again, the FMF KTM rider was able to secure a highly commendable fifth place result at the flag.

Trystan Hart: “I’m gutted to be honest. Any finish at Erzberg is good, but I was definitely on course for a podium when I had a small issue with only a couple of sections to go. I was able to get back on the bike and bring it home in fifth, but it wasn’t where I wanted to be. I had a tough start but managed to get into a strong rhythm and started passing the riders ahead. All these other guys are riding really well, but it’s my fourth time here and my fourth top five. I’ll be back again next year, aiming to fight for my first win.”

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing now look ahead to round two of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship – Silver Kings, held in the United States on June 12-14.

Provisional Results – 2025 Red Bull Erzbergrodeo
1. Manuel Lettenbichler (GER), KTM, 2:49:17.58
2. Billy Bolt (GBR), Husqvarna, 3:01:57.565
3. Teodor Kabakchiev (BUL), Sherco, 3:13:44.94
4. Mitch Brightmore (GBR), GASGAS, 3:13:46.90
5. Trystan Hart (CAN), KTM, 3:18:32.642

Hard work pays off as Axel Semb takes charge of FIM Junior Enduro World Championship

With four consecutive race wins, Fantic Factory Racing Team’s Axel Semb is the rider to beat in the FIM Junior Enduro World Championship.

Following his dominant run at both the GP of Spain and the Polisport GP of Sweden, of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship, the 22-year-old Swede has raced ahead with a sizeable points lead in the Junior class.

Fourth both days at round one in Portugal, Axel’s start to the championship practically went unnoticed, never quite challenging the top three.

Now, seven weeks later, all that has rapidly changed, and as we head into the summer break, the young Swede finds himself riding high with an 18-point lead in the Junior class.

“In Portugal, I probably wasn’t as 100 per cent ready as I feel now. So I think that’s the change,” tells Axel, at his home round in Sweden. “Obviously, I really wanted this result, but you never know. I came into the weekend with the mindset of just doing my best, which resulted in going 1-1.”

Modestly playing down his results, Axel’s victories in Sweden were fairly commanding. With over 40 seconds in hand each day, there were times when his race lead exceeded one minute. Dig a little deeper and his day two performance would have slotted him into 10th overall in EnduroGP.

“I felt comfortable on the bike. I wasn’t stressing and was simply going with my flow,” explained Axel, when quizzed about that top-10 overall pace. “For sure, I made mistakes, but they were not the biggest. The only major moment was a crash on the final lap of day one. Otherwise, it was a steady ride, within my level!”

While 2025 is so far going to plan for Axel, he knows not to take anything for granted. In 2024, he began his season with a debut win at round one in Portugal, adding a further two wins to his tally at round two. But it was round three, at the GP of Romania, where things began to unravel. And it’s taken until now to set right.

“In Romania, I hit my head quite hard when leading and it took a long time to come back from that,” he recalls.

“It seemed to follow me all year. It felt like there were struggles to enjoy the racing, both in my riding and in my head, so it’s just nice to find my normal self. It was a lot of hard work to get back to where I know I can be.”

So, as we enter this summer break until the Forsiteservices GP of Wales in early August, are the thoughts of that 18-point championship lead weighing on his mind, or is the goal of winning races all that matters?

“Right now, I want to keep on going like normal and not worry about the standings because there is a long way still to go.

“I’ll try to stay home and spend some time with family and friends, but in between I will keep doing the work.”

Josep Garcia responds with day two FIM EnduroGP win at Polisport GP of Sweden

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia rides to victory on day two at the POLISPORT GP of Sweden at round three of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship.

  • Josep Garcia claims EnduroGP win on day two in Sweden
  • Joy for Axel Semb with another Junior class victory
  • Testing conditions in low temperatures make for tough racing in Skövde

Day two brought the POLISPORT GP of Sweden to a close for round three of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship in Skövde. A further drop in temperatures made for a winter feel as riders battled a tough day of beaten-up special tests.

Garcia masters the tough Swedish terrain

Regrouping overnight, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia was determined not to finish as runner-up for the second day running. Re-walking the GMOTO Enduro Test, ACERBIS Cross Test and POLISPORT Extreme Test quickly paid off for the Spaniard. Fastest in all three opening special tests, the defending EnduroGP champion ended lap one of three with a confidence-boosting nine-second lead.

Also on the move, GASGAS Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona held second, with day one winner TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Zach Pichon two seconds behind Verona in third. Triumph Racing Factory Enduro Team’s Mikael Persson was fourth on home soil, with Sherco Racing Factory’s Hamish Macdonald and Antoine Magain just behind in fifth and sixth, respectively.

There were no major changes to the leaderboard on lap two, with Garcia adding another two test wins to his collection to extend his advantage over Verona to 16 seconds. Controlling his lead, Garcia rode on to claim a strong win in EnduroGP. Verona placed 15 seconds behind as runner-up, while Pichon, unsettled by a couple of mistakes, had to settle for third. Macdonald got the better of Persson to claim fourth, pushing the Swede back to fifth in his home race.

Victory for Verona in Enduro2

Despite missing out on the overall EnduroGP win, Verona could be pleased with claiming the top step of the Enduro2 podium. Pichon followed him home for second, albeit 31 seconds adrift. A great ride by Sherco Racing Factory’s Theo Espinasse saw him take third.

The Enduro1 class once again saw a flawless performance by Garcia to claim a commanding margin of victory. Enjoying a strong ride in his home race, Persson placed as runner-up. Triumph Italia Racing’s Morgan Lesiardo improved on his day one result of fourth to take third.

Beginning to establish himself as the rider to beat in Enduro3, Macdonald took his second class win of the weekend in Skövde. Teammate Antoine Magain joined Macdonald in a Sherco 1-2, while TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Leo Le Quere completed the podium with third.

Axel Semb does the double on home soil in Junior class

Capping off a remarkable POLISPORT GP of Sweden home race, Fantic Factory Racing Team’s Axel Semb secured his second victory of the weekend in the Junior class. Another dominant ride by the young Swede saw him win by 41 seconds.

From the opening special test there was simply no stopping Semb today. Racking up six consecutive fastest times, he had established a 34-second lead at the end of the second POLISPORT Extreme Test. With just the final lap remaining, he controlled his advantage to take home a well-deserved win.

MGR Kawasaki’s Kyron Bacon was once again the next-best rider to Semb in Sweden. The Australian showed he’d got the measure of the rocky Swedish terrain, picking up the fastest time on the final GMOTO Enduro Test, to complete his day as runner-up.

The battle for the final step of the podium came right down to the wire between Thibault Giraudon (Sherco) and Ox Moto Beta’s Leo Joyon. The French duo both wanted third, but it was Giraudon who sealed the deal with a better time on the final POLISPORT Extreme Test. With Joyon finishing just two seconds behind in fourth, Fantic Factory Racing Enduro Team Specia’s Kevin Cristino completed the top five.

Victory for Scardina, but Elgari takes over Youth class points lead

The fight for supremacy in the Youth class was once again fought out between Fantic Factory Racing Enduro Team Specia’s Pietro Scardina, TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Alberto Elgari and Team KTM Pro Racing Sport’s Romain Dagna.

Day one winner Elgari initially led the way, thanks to a fastest time on the opening GMOTO Enduro Test, with Scardina and Dagna second and third, respectively. Scardina went on a charge thereafter, winning the next three special tests, building a five-second lead over Elgari.

As the day roared on, Scardina and Elgari pulled clear of Dagna. Scardina led Elgari by 27 seconds as they exited the final GMOTO Enduro Test. But the TM MOTO rider fought back, winning the final two special tests in Sweden. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough, and Scardina held on to claim victory by 12 seconds over Elgari. Over one minute further back, Dagna completed the top three. Entering the summer break, it’s Elgari who now takes over the championship lead in the Youth class.

The Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship continues with round four at the Forsiteservices GP of Wales, on 1-3 August.

Josep Garcia (KTM): “I didn’t expect to win in these conditions. It feels more than a win, having been injured since the GP of Spain. It’s an amazing result. I’m very happy for myself and the team for doing this.”

Andrea Verona (GASGAS): “Day two was definitely better than yesterday. Everything felt a lot more positive for me, I felt faster and understood better how to ride the Enduro Test. The overall win would have been nice, but I’m happy with things.”

Zach Pichon (TM MOTO): “It was difficult for me to find the same rhythm in the Enduro Test as I had yesterday. Also two big mistakes in the Extreme Test cost me a lot too. But it goes like that sometimes. For sure, it’s been the toughest race of the season so far.”

Axel Semb (Fantic): “For sure, I wanted this result, but you never know how it can go. To go 1-1 is something I’m more than super happy about. It’s great to have this lead heading into the summer break, but there is still a long way to go in the championship.”

Pietro Scardina (Fantic): “I’m super happy with the win today. I had a great fight all day with my friend Alberto Elgari. We pushed each other hard, which was nice.”

Zach Pichon the rider to beat on day one at Polisport FIM EnduroGP of Sweden

TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Zach Pichon raced to a dominant victory on day one at round three of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship at the POLISPORT GP of Sweden.

  • Zach Pichon secures EnduroGP day one win
  • Axel Semb cards Junior class victory
  • Riders face challenging conditions at POLISPORT GP of Sweden

The opening day of racing at round three of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship proved a test of character for the riders. Described as tough, technical and physical, the POLISPORT GP of Sweden put everyone through their paces on the rugged, rocky, stony terrain. With mistakes aplenty, those who could best limit their errors came to the fore.

Pichon masters tough enduro terrain to win in Sweden

Feeling quietly confident in his abilities on the unforgiving Swedish terrain, TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Zach Pichon hit the ground running this morning by winning the opening GMOTO Enduro Test, ahead of GASGAS Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona, with KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia third fastest.

As they exited the first ACERBIS Cross Test, won by Garcia, Verona still led overall, but only 0.57 seconds separated Verona, Garcia and Pichon. Closing out lap one with the POLISPORT Extreme Test, it was home favourite Mikael Persson who took a historic first EnduroGP class special test win for the Triumph Racing Factory Enduro Team. With Pichon placing second to Persson, the Frenchman moved himself into the race lead as they headed out on lap two of three.

Fastest again on the GMOTO Enduro Test, Pichon strengthened his advantage to 14 seconds over Garcia in second, with Sherco Racing Factory’s Hamish Macdonald now up to third. Persson had slotted into fourth, pushing Verona back to an uncomfortable fifth. Closing out lap two with the fastest time in the POLISPORT Extreme Test, Pichon was beginning to pull clear of his rivals on the most demanding of terrain.

Making it four wins from four starts in the day’s GMOTO Enduro Test, Pichon completed the third and final lap of day one at the POLISPORT GP of Sweden with a remarkable 48-second margin of victory in EnduroGP. Consistent all day, but unable to find the measure of Pichon’s pace, Garcia had to be content with second.

Macdonald, Verona and Persson were never far away from Garcia, with only 16 seconds separating second to fifth. Battling his way onto the podium, Macdonald took third by less than two seconds over Verona in fourth. Finishing just under four seconds shy of claiming a podium result on home soil, Persson could be pleased with his efforts in fifth, but will aim for more tomorrow.

Garcia challenged by Persson for Enduro1 victory

Garcia continued his unbeaten run of form in Enduro1 to secure his fifth class win of the season. However, he didn’t have an easy ride to victory. Pushing him all the way, Persson topped all three special tests on the final lap to finish 16 seconds adrift as runner-up. Nearly three minutes back, Honda Racing RedMoto Enduro Team’s Samuele Bernardini rounded out the top three in Enduro1.

Thanks to his EnduroGP win, Pichon also won the Enduro2 class for the fourth time in 2025. Unable to match the pace of the Frenchman, Verona ended his day in second, while Beta Factory Enduro Team’s Nathan Watson was third.

Capping off an excellent ride at the POLISPORT GP of Sweden, Macdonald secured his fourth win of the season in Enduro3. Making it a Sherco 1-2, Antoine Magain joined him on the podium in second. Taking third, TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Leo Le Quere denied Sherco a clean sweep of the rostrum on day one in Sweden.

Axel Semb controls Junior class for dominant victory

Quickly putting a disappointing AKRAPOVIC Super Test behind him, Fantic Factory Racing Team’s Axel Semb got to work on day one of the POLISPORT GP of Sweden. The rocks, stones and roots favoured the young Swede, and immediately he proved himself as the rider to beat in the Junior class.

Unmatched, the Fantic rider topped the opening seven special tests of the day to establish a one-minute-and-16-second lead over MGR Kawasaki’s Kyron Bacon in second. A small crash on the final Cross Test lost him some time, but never enough to unsettle his pace. Holding firm, he took a much-deserved home win in the Junior class.

Back on pace after an illness-hit GP of Spain, Bacon returned to the Junior podium with second position. The Australian improved greatly as the day progressed and will aim to start day two even stronger.

In the battle for the final step of the podium, Fantic Factory Racing Enduro Team Specia’s Kevin Cristino edged out Ox Moto Beta’s Leo Joyon by less than three seconds to claim third, thanks to a win on the final GMOTO Enduro Test. With Joyon pushed back to fourth, Thibault Giraudon (Sherco) completed the top five.

Alberto Elgari races to Youth class win

The celebrations were high in the TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team camp at the end of day one, with Alberto Elgari winning the Youth class to add to the team’s EnduroGP win with Pichon. The Italian was fast from the off this morning, topping both the opening GMOTO Enduro Test and ACERBIS Cross Test to establish an early eight-second lead over Team KTM Pro Racing Sport’s Romain Dagna in second.

By the beginning of the third and final lap, Dagna had reduced the gap to just four seconds, but Elgari wasn’t ready to let the victory slip away. Increasing his rhythm, he steadily extended his advantage to win by 20 seconds.

A strong final lap by Fantic Factory Racing Enduro Team Specia’s Pietro Scardina saw Dagna’s second place come under threat. An incredible run on the final GMOTO Enduro Test, resulted in Scardina overhauling Dagna to take second, pushing the Frenchman back to third.

Zach Pichon (TM MOTO): “I’m really happy with my day and my riding to get this win. I felt great on the Enduro Test and didn’t really make any mistakes. That was the key to today. With the rocks and roots, it was tricky. Hopefully, we can repeat this again tomorrow.”

Josep Garcia (KTM): “Today feels like a win. I haven’t been able to ride properly after my crash at the GP of Spain, so it was a challenging race for me. Honestly, I’m happy with this result. Tomorrow, we will try for more!”

Hamish Macdonald (Sherco): “I’ve been working so hard to get to this moment and this EnduroGP podium. I think the conditions were my style today. I feel comfortable in the stones and my preparation in the past really helped a lot for today. Honestly, I’m over the moon and lost for words on this result. Thanks to my team, sponsors and family for the support!”

Axel Semb (Fantic): “I got a good feeling in the tests straight away and pulled a big gap on lap one. Unluckily, in the final Cross Test I had one crash and lost some time. But it’s been a great day, with lots of home support.”

Alberto Elgari (TM MOTO): “From lap two until the finish, I found my groove and was able to increase my rhythm and take the win. It’s my second win of the season and the feeling on the bike is getting better all of the time.”

EnduroGP of France Cancelled

The FIM, Fédération Française de Motocyclisme (FFM), Prime Stadium and Réquista Moto Sport regret to announce that, despite their best efforts, they have been forced to cancel the EnduroGP of France, which was scheduled for September 12-14 in Réquista. The event will not be replaced.

Jaume Betriu: Making the transition from pro racer to rider coach in FIM EnduroGP

When riders roll off the start ramp for this weekend’s Polisport GP of Sweden, the familiar #94 race number of WP Eric Auge’s Jaume Betriu will be missing.

A mainstay of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship since 2013, Betriu raced his final race at round two’s GP of Spain in Oliana. A new chapter beckons for the well-liked Spaniard, as he begins to mentor the next crop of young Spanish talent through their EnduroGP journey.

With Oliana marking a home race for Betriu — his mother lives in the town and his house is just 10 kilometres from the race paddock — it seemed a fitting location for him to hang up his helmet.

“My last race, the last dance,” tells Jaume at the end of an emotional GP of Spain for him. “This is a big decision to take, but I feel like it’s the right moment to stop racing in the world championship.

“I’m 30 years old and the hours of dedication to training and preparation for EnduroGP is a lot. It’s maybe more than I can give, so I think it’s the right decision to move on to other things. I have an opportunity to work with the RFME to help younger riders and have ways to become more involved within the team, WP Eric Auge.

“So, this is where I started, and now it’s where I’m ending. I grew up on these trails and trained on them, it feels special, you know!”

Ready to pass the baton, Jaume won’t have any time to lie idle. As the RFME Spanish Federation work to nurture and develop younger riders entering FIM EnduroGP, Jaume has come onboard to offer his support and guidance.

As a rider who’s raced over 10 EnduroGP seasons, and carded multiple podium results along the way, the role should prove a natural fit.

“This move from racer to coach with the kids is a role I’m super interested in,” he continues. “It’s an opportunity that arose during the winter from speaking with the Spanish federation, and I feel like it’s a good direction to take. I want to use my life and racing experiences to help the younger riders.”

Arguably, it’s a situation he knows very well. After all, every rider remembers their first world championship race, and for Jaume that was the rain-hit GP of France in 2013. Jumping into the deep end of Enduro2, he finished a commendable 16th and 12th.

“My first EnduroGP race was back in 2013 at the GP of France in St. Flour,” he recalls. “I raced it on a Husaberg 350 four-stroke. I remember at the end of day one there was a big storm, and conditions got so tough.

“I think that’s when I discovered what real enduro was. It was amazing, I learned so much from it, and never stopped after that.”

While the future looks exciting for Jaume, there must be a highlight moment that stands proud among the last decade or so of racing?

“It’s hard to say what is the biggest highlight. I’m satisfied with what I achieved in racing. But I think 2020 and 2021 were really good, even though things were a bit strange due to the covid years!

“At the beginning of 2020, I raced the Dakar Rally with no plans for EnduroGP. After the rally, Eric Auge called me and asked if I wanted to race. With only one month to prepare I decided to go to Enduro3 with the ‘Big Mama’ KTM 500 four-stroke.

“We finished the season second overall in Enduro3 and, I think, seventh in EnduroGP. That felt incredible. The following year we did the same again, with similar results. I’m super proud of this.”

“But EnduroGP is special. Over the years, I’ve managed to get many different podiums but also race with so many great riders. People like Johnny Aubert, Matti Seistola, Lorenzo Santolino and Josep Garcia. I feel lucky to have raced with riders like that.”

The Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship continues with the Polisport GP of Sweden for round three on 23-25 May.

Andrea Verona races to victory on day two of FIM EnduroGP of Spain

A dramatic late charge by GASGAS Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona saw the Italian take victory on day two at round two of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship.

  • Verona’s thrilling late push secures EnduroGP win
  • Debut EnduroGP podium for Samuele Bernardini with third
  • Adverse weather causes disruption in Oliana, Spain

After picture-perfect weather on day one at the GP of Spain for round two of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship, day two was the polar opposite. Forecasted adverse weather conditions rang true, bringing torrential rain and flooding throughout Saturday night and into Sunday morning.

Intense work by promoters Prime Stadium Eventos, event organisers Moto Club Segre and the FIM, ensured racing could continue. Revising the course layout and delaying the start allowed the weather to improve, creating better conditions for all.

Verona pounces to claim dramatic EnduroGP victory

Remaining unfazed by the changes in weather, terrain and schedule, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia attacked hard from the word go on day two. Fastest in the opening POLISPORT Extreme Test and ACERBIS Cross Test, he ended a revised lap one as the early leader. Closing out lap two with a win in the first timed run of the GMOTO Enduro Test, the Spaniard built up a 30-second lead over GASGAS Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona.

The battle for third was intense, with just one second separating three riders. Honda Racing RedMoto Enduro Team’s Samuele Bernardini held an eight-hundredths of a second advantage over Sherco Racing Factory’s Hamish Macdonald in fourth, with Triumph Italia Racing’s Morgan Lesiardo nine tenths of a second back in fifth. Unfortunately, TM MOTO Boano Factory Racing’s Zach Pichon proved the biggest casualty of the test. Getting stuck on a climb, the Frenchman slipped from third down to 21st.

As the day progressed, Verona made some inroads into Garcia’s lead, reducing it to 18 seconds with two tests remaining. Nursing an injured foot, Garcia lost more time on the GMOTO Enduro Test, arriving at the final ACERBIS Cross Test of the day with just sixth tenths of a second in hand over Verona.

Verona knew it was his time to attack. Placing third to Beta Factory Enduro Team’s Nathan Watson, and Pichon, on the final test, he beat Garcia by over one second to take a dramatic victory.

For Garcia, hopes of a double EnduroGP win slipped away. The lost time on the final GMOTO Enduro Test saw the majority of his good work undone. And with Verona getting the measure of him on the final test, he was forced to settle for second.

As exciting as the battle for the victory was, the fight for the final step of the podium was electric too. As the latter half of the day progressed, Bernardini and Lesiardo were joined by Sherco Racing Factory’s Antoine Magain, with Macdonald slipping down the running order.

Holding firm, Honda mounted Bernardini kept the duo at bay to claim his debut EnduroGP podium result. Magain worked his way past Lesiardo to claim fourth, with Lesiardo narrowly holding off a late push from Watson to seal fifth, in what was a career-best result.

Verona takes his first Enduro2 win of the season

As the EnduroGP winner, Verona also claimed the Enduro2 class win. Earning his first victory of the season, the Italian put his wealth of experience to use in the tricky conditions to top the podium by 56 seconds. Behind him, Watson took the runner-up result, with Sherco Racing Factory’s Theo Espinasse securing his first podium of the season with third.

Although disappointed about missing the EnduroGP victory, Garcia could still be happy to have won the Enduro1 class. Bernardini, spurred on by his overall EnduroGP podium, put in an excellent ride for second. Lesiardo was another rider to capitalise on the difficult conditions and claimed his second Enduro1 podium of the season with third.

The Enduro3 class saw Magain end his teammate Macdonald’s win streak. The Belgian made best of the difficult conditions to claim the victory. After losing time to Magain midway through the day, Macdonald fought back to close the gap, but it wasn’t enough and he had to settle for second. TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Leo Le Quere placed third for the second time in Spain.

Semb and Joyon battle for Junior class win

As on day one, it was Fantic Factory Racing Team’s Axel Semb who emerged victorious on day two in the FIM Junior Enduro World Championship. Rain or shine, the young Swede proved in Oliana that he’s back on top form and riding high on confidence.

However, he had to work hard for his win today. Ox Moto Beta’s Leo Joyon was the early pace setter, winning the first four special tests to take up the lead in the Junior class. But an incredible run through the second GMOTO Enduro Test saw Semb overhaul his 14-second deficit to Joyon and take control of the race by nearly two seconds.

Throughout the remainder of the day, the duo fought head-to-head for the win. But as they cleared the final ACERBIS Cross Test, the victory was Semb’s by just four seconds. While missing the top step of the podium, Joyon could still be pleased with his strong ride for second.

Placing 42 seconds behind Semb and Joyon, Fantic Factory Racing Enduro Team Specia’s Kevin Cristino rounded out the podium in third. TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Manuel Verzeroli was fourth, with Thibault Giraudon (Sherco) fifth.

Scardina braves the mud to take victory in Youth class

Day two in Spain saw a new winner emerge in the FIM Youth Enduro World Championship. Fantic Factory Racing Enduro Team Specia’s Pietro Scardina was quickest to adapt to the muddy conditions and duly won the opening POLISPORT Extreme Test.

Third on the following ACERBIS Cross Test, the Italian found his flow after that and was never headed. Claiming six consecutive special test wins, he raced ahead to a 29-second margin of victory.

Behind him, day one winner Team KTM Pro Racing Sport’s Romain Dagna came home in second. The Frenchman never quite got the measure of Scardina today, despite his best efforts. TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Alberto Elgari finished 14 seconds behind Dagna to complete the top three.

After what has proven to be two days of contrasting weather at the GP of Spain for round two of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship, riders and fans can now look forward to round three’s POLISPORT GP of Sweden in Skövde on 23-25 May.

Andrea Verona (GASGAS): “It’s been a hard day on the trail. I’m really happy to get my first win of the year on the 450F. It wasn’t easy. It’s been a long day, so slippery on lap one, but got better as the day progressed. The Enduro Test was tough, the lines I checked last night helped me on the bigger bike. Slowly, we are getting there with a pace to fight at the front.”

Josep Garcia (KTM): “To be honest I was having a perfect day of racing, enjoying the muddy conditions. I had the gap out to 30 seconds. But on the penultimate Cross Test I hit the metal container with my right foot and crashed, which caused me a bit of pain. It’s disappointing to lose, but this championship is long.”

Samuele Bernardini (Honda): “I’m so happy, this is my first podium in EnduroGP class. I pushed as hard as I could today, trying all the time. I’m very happy with this result, thank you so much to my team.”

Axel Semb (Fantic): “To come back and win again feels really good. Conditions were much different than yesterday, but I pushed hard to do my best and was able to make the win happen.”

Pietro Scardina (Fantic): “Today was a difficult day, but I didn’t make a mistake and rode well. Without mistakes, I was able to win, unlike yesterday. So I learned a bit too. It’s good!”

Commanding home win for Josep Garcia on day one at FIM EnduroGP of Spain

The opening day of racing at round two of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship saw Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia win in Oliana, Spain. TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Zach Pichon and GASGAS Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona completed the EnduroGP podium in second and third, respectively.

  • EnduroGP victory for Josep Garcia on day one at GP of Spain
  • Sweden’s Axel Semb wins Junior class
  • Romain Dagna races to the top step of the Youth category podium
Garcia rides to EnduroGP victory on home soil

Under sunny skies in Oliana, Spain, the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship readied itself for an exciting day of racing at round two. Riding a wave of momentum following his win in Friday’s AKRAPOVIC Super Test, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia began day one primed for business.

Sharp off the mark, the Spaniard quickly topped the opening GMOTO Enduro Test by almost six seconds from TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Zach Pichon, with GASGAS Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona a further seven seconds behind in third.

Fastest in the opening POLISPORT Extreme Test ahead of Sherco Racing Factory’s Theo Espinasse, Garcia extended his lead to 15 seconds over Pichon. With Verona winning the first ACERBIS Cross Test, and Garcia placing an ‘uncharacteristic’ fifth, it momentarily looked like the fight for victory was about to tighten up.

But Garcia quickly silenced those thoughts by opening lap two with an astonishingly fast time in the GMOTO Enduro Test. Gapping his rivals by 14 seconds on the special test saw him build a healthy 27-second lead with less than half of the race day complete.

From that point on, Garcia never faltered. Winning all five remaining special tests to end day one with a 49-second advantage, it was very much a statement ride from the EnduroGP champion.

Although remaining the closest rider to Garcia throughout the day, a mistake on the first POLISPORT Extreme Test and a drop in pace on the final lap saw Pichon’s hopes of challenging for the win slip away. Nevertheless, it was still a solid ride for the Frenchman in second.

Verona raced on to complete the top three, and despite taking a win on the ACERBIS Cross Test, the Italian never quite got close enough to properly challenge Pichon. The GASGAS rider will look to make amends tomorrow.

Sherco Racing Factory’s Hamish Macdonald enjoyed a strong ride for fourth. Claiming a brace of top-five test times, he kept the pressure on Verona. Ensuring two Sherco Racing Factory riders made it into the top five, Antoine Magain took fifth.

Pichon keeps Enduro2 win streak alive with day one victory

The overall EnduroGP win might have eluded Pichon, but the Enduro2 victory on day one was his. As the closest overall challenger to Garcia, his pace pulled him clear of Verona in second to win by 17 seconds. Behind the top two of Pichon and Verona, Beta Factory Enduro Team’s Nathan Watson completed the podium in third.

In Enduro1, it was Garcia who raced to a clear and commanding one-minute and 43-second margin of victory. But behind him things were much tighter. In the battle for the remainder of the podium, it was a fight between Triumph Italia Racing’s Lesiardo Morgan and Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team’s Mikael Persson. Coming down to the wire, Morgan took second over Persson by just six tenths of a second.

Backing up his pair of Enduro3 wins at round one, Macdonald won again in class on day one in Spain. The New Zealander was challenged by teammate Magain, but the Belgian just didn’t have the pace of Macdonald on the final lap to deny him victory. TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Leo Le Quere secured his first Enduro3 podium of the season with third, while home favourite WP Eric Auge’s Jaume Betriu took fourth.

Dominant win for Semb in Junior class

The FIM Junior Enduro World Championship was all about Fantic Factory Racing Team’s Axel Semb on day one at the GP of Spain in Oliana. The young Swede was nothing short of sensational. Taking control of the race lead on the opening POLISPORT Extreme Test, Semb never looked back, racing clear to a very commanding 37-second margin of victory. This marked the Fantic rider’s first Junior class win since round two in 2024.

The remainder of the Junior class podium was decided by less than four seconds. Proving fast and consistent throughout the day, France’s Thibault Giraudon (Sherco) secured second. Stepping up to the Junior class as the reigning FIM Youth Enduro World Champion, TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Manuel Verzeroli proved he’s got the pace of his rivals by taking a debut podium result in third.

Finishing an agonising sixty-five hundredths of a second behind Verzeroli, Ox Moto Beta’s Leo Joyon had to be content with fourth. Fantic Factory Racing Team’s Kevin Cristino completed the top five. It wasn’t the best of days for round one’s double winner Kyron Bacon, with the MGR Kawasaki rider placing seventh. He’ll look to bounce back tomorrow.

Win for France’s Romain Dagna in Youth class

The FIM Youth Enduro World Championship saw Team KTM Pro Racing Sport’s Romain Dagna return to the top step of the podium on day one at the GP of Spain. The Frenchman pulled clear during the early part of the day, stretching his advantage out to 19 seconds at the end of the second ACERBIS Cross Test.

But losing 15 seconds on the final GMOTO Enduro Test almost saw all of that hard work undone. With TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Alberto Elgari now within striking distance, Dagna had to react fast. Winning the final two special tests of the day, he secured the Youth class victory.

Although almost capitalising on Dagna’s mistake, Elgari was unable to turn the tables on the Frenchman and finished second. Fantic Factory Racing Enduro Team Specia’s Pietro Scardina completed the top three.

Josep Garcia (KTM): “I worked hard after the GP of Portugal to be ready for this race. I felt I came into my home race prepared and ready to fight. I made some mistakes and some crashes, but overall it went well. It’s incredible to race this close to my home, to win is amazing.”

Zach Pichon (TM MOTO): “For me, it was a good day. I had some good times in the Enduro Test. I knew Josep [Garcia] would be fast here, it’s his home race. But I’m pleased with my performance. I hope to continue like this tomorrow.”

Andrea Verona (GASGAS): “Third overall is nice, but I think I could have fought for second if it wasn’t for some mistakes. I know there’s places to improve, so I will aim to do that tomorrow.”

Axel Semb (Fantic): “It feels great to win. It’s been a good comeback from the opening round in Portugal where I was fourth both days. It’s also been a long time since my last victory, so I’m super happy to be back on the top step of the podium.”

Romain Dagna (KTM): “I had a great first lap and was able to open up a nice lead. I held that advantage for most of the day, but when I crashed twice on the final Enduro Test the times were tight again. I kept calm, kept my pace and was able to build again, and win the day.”

Debut EnduroGP win marks coming of age for Zach Pichon

There is a lot to unpack from the opening round of the 2025 Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship in Portugal. But one rider who stepped to the forefront of it all is TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Zach Pichon.

In the past, we’ve seen flashes of brilliance from the 2022 FIM Junior Enduro World Champion. His Akrapovič Super Test victory at the season ending GP of France in 2024 was the most recent, but this weekend’s ride at the GP of Portugal in Fafe was different. We saw a new Zach Pichon emerge.

Zach’s offseason switch from Sherco to TM MOTO, and their potent TM 300 4T, was one of much interest. Was it the change he needed to become one of EnduroGP’s big-four riders? Already that question has been answered with a resounding YES!

A maiden EnduroGP podium on Saturday was swiftly backed up by a debut EnduroGP victory on Sunday. By this performance alone, it’s clear the Frenchman has made a statement.

“It was a long day,” told Zach, moments after winning his first EnduroGP race on Sunday evening. “Steve (Holcombe) was fast in the morning, but when he retired on the second lap, it gave me the opportunity to be on top. I kept focused and did the job. I’m really, really happy.”

“For sure we worked a lot this winter with my team, my Dad and my trainer. The bike is amazing, and since I stepped onto it, I could feel the difference. I knew my speed and my fitness were good coming here, but it’s still a surprise to win.”

The GP of Portugal proved a key test of both rider and machine for the season opener. The ACERBIS Cross Test and Gmoto Enduro Test were long, fast, and developed deep ruts and brutal bumps. The Polisport Extreme Test was filled with super-technical rock slabs.

Across the 19 special tests raced in Fafe, only once did Zach place outside the top five, but more impressively, he only placed outside of the top three on three occasions.

“I used to ride a four-stroke in motocross, so I feel happy to be back on one again,” confirmed Zach. “The conditions of the special tests this weekend were so rough and fast, but the engine just pulls.

“This result has been two or three years coming, coming, coming. But I’m happy, I think the step that I needed to take has come with the new bike.”

Of course this is only the first round in what will be a long and competitive Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship, but it already looks like both Zach Pichon and TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team are on the right path to shake things up in 2025.

TM MOTO’s Zach Pichon Claims Maiden EnduroGP Victory On Day Two In Portugal

On day two at the opening round of the 2025 Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship, it was TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Zach Pichon who raced to his debut EnduroGP overall victory, while taking an early lead in the championship. GASGAS Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona narrowly missed out on the win in second, with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia completing the podium in third.

  • Zach Pichon takes his first EnduroGP win
  • Francesca Nocera tops Women’s class on day two
  • Kyron Bacon claims Junior class victory in Fafe

Breakthrough EnduroGP victory for Zach Pichon

Fired up after his third-place finish on Saturday, Honda Racing RedMoto Enduro Team’s Steve Holcombe came out all guns blazing on lap one. Setting the fastest time in the first POLISPORT Extreme Test, over five seconds faster than day one winner Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia, Holcombe then went on to comfortably top the following two tests.

After lap one, the Brit enjoyed a 20-second lead over TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Zach Pichon, with Garcia hot on his heels. GASGAS Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona was lying in fourth, a further four seconds behind.

Determined to close the gap to rival Holcombe, Garcia won his first and only test of the day on lap two and began to close the gap. However, Pichon found his rhythm after a series of top-three results and went fastest on the ACERBIS Cross Test, narrowly edging out Holcombe for the win.

Heading into the second GMOTO Enduro Test of the day, Holcombe had built up an impressive lead of 30 seconds over Pichon, who had overtaken Garcia to lie second. However, Holcombe suffered a knee injury after an unfortunate error on the test that forced him to retire. Promoting Pichon into the overall lead, the Frenchman looked towards his debut EnduroGP victory.

Lap two saw Beta Factory Enduro Team’s Nathan Watson rise up the leaderboard after a series of strong results, with the Brit lying in fourth entering the final lap. Honda Racing RedMoto Enduro Team’s Samuele Bernardini was close behind, putting the pressure on in the fight for fourth.

The final POLISPORT Extreme Test of the day on lap three saw a new winner emerge in Sherco Factory Team’s Hamish Macdonald, with teammate Antoine Magain just over a second behind. In a last-ditch effort to overtake Pichon for the lead, Verona blitzed the final two tests of the day to win both, but it was not enough to dethrone the Frenchman.

In the end, it was Pichon who secured his first-ever overall EnduroGP victory in Fafe, just a day after earning his maiden EnduroGP podium. Despite a thrilling finish, Verona had to settle for second. Claiming his second overall podium of the weekend, Josep Garcia followed the pair home in third. After an exciting opening round, Pichon leads the EnduroGP standings by just two points over Garcia, with Andrea Verona in third.

Nathan Watson steered his Beta to a hard-fought fourth-place finish on day two, proving that he has what it takes to be in the mix at the sharp end of the pack. Samuele Bernardini took fifth, a further five seconds back. Hamish Macdonald was just four seconds behind for sixth, with Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team’s Mikael Persson only four hundredths of a second behind the Sherco rider in seventh.

Day two victory for Nocera in Enduro Women

The Expotrade FIM Women’s Enduro World Championship saw Francesca Nocera (HRC Honda) back up her day one victory with a win on day two. Narrowly beating RIEJU Factory Racing’s Rachel Gutish to the top spot by two seconds proved just how tight today’s racing was. The American Gutish had a strong start to the day, but it wasn’t enough to fend off Nocera as she topped every test on lap two. Nieve Holmes steered her Sherco to another podium result, with two test wins on day two also marking an impressive weekend for the Brit.

In the Expotrade FIM Junior Women’s Enduro World Cup, Elizabeth Tett (TM MOTO) emerged victorious again with a margin of 40 seconds over second placed Lorna Lafont (Sherco). Sweden’s Matilda Ahlstrom (Husqvarna) finished third.

Garcia makes it two from two in Enduro1

Despite being forced to settle for third overall, Josep Garcia (KTM) still proved his speed in the Enduro1 category, taking the win over runner-up Samuele Bernardini (Honda). Marking a successful debut weekend for Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team, Mikael Persson completed the podium for the second time in Portugal.

Thanks to his overall victory, the Enduro2 win was also secured for Zach Pichon (TM MOTO). The French rider beat the reigning Enduro2 champion Andrea Verona (GASGAS) by two seconds, with Nathan Watson (Beta) completing the top three.

Mirroring their podium lockout on Saturday, Sherco Factory Team took over the Enduro3 category again on day two with Hamish Macdonald securing a second consecutive victory. Antoine Magain was close behind in second, just four seconds down on the Kiwi, with Julien Roussaly rounding out the podium in third.

Kyron Bacon does the double in Junior

The Junior class saw some incredibly close battles on day two, but it was MGR Kawasaki’s Kyron Bacon who triumphed again. With three test victories under his belt and three runner-up results, the Tasmanian proved that consistency is key, taking the win by close to 16 seconds and setting himself as the championship frontrunner. Leo Joyon (Beta) ended his day in second. Despite topping the timesheets on four of the nine tests, Fantic Factory Racing Team’s Kevin Cristino was forced to settle for third after a costly error on the second GMOTO Enduro Test.

In the Youth category, TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Alberto Elgari dominated day two in Portugal to take the victory, after narrowly missing out on Saturday. Victorious in all but two special tests, the young Italian finished with a 28-second lead over runner-up Fantic Factory Racing Team rider Pietro Scardina. Day one victor Romain Dagna (KTM) completed the podium in third.

The 2025 Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship continues in one month’s time for the GP of Spain in Oliana on 2-4 May.

Zach Pichon (TM MOTO): “That was a tough day! I stayed focused all day and put in some good times, which clearly paid off. We’ve worked really hard this winter training and getting the bike set up perfectly, and as soon as I got on the bike this weekend I felt the difference. I was surprised to win, but I know that my speed and fitness are up there with the top guys now which is exciting. This win has been a few years in the making, since I stepped up from Junior, so I’m really happy and feeling confident.”

Andrea Verona (GASGAS): “Day two was a lot better for me, finishing second overall and second in Enduro2, just two seconds off the win. I came up a bit short on the extreme tests, but I brought it back on the other tests so I know what I need to work on now. It was a tough fight all day long, but of course I want to win and I’m looking forward to going again in Spain in a few weeks.”

Josep Garcia (KTM): “Today was really tough day for me, I pushed a bit too hard yesterday and used up a lot of my energy. I’m not 100% yet, and I did suffer a bit with my shoulder today. I fought until the end and overall I’m proud of my results this weekend considering I’m coming back from injury. Now, it’s time to put the work in to get back to full fitness and I can’t wait for my home GP in Spain!”

Hamish Macdonald (Sherco): “I’m happy to get another strong finish today in Enduro3, I struggled a bit this morning but found my groove in the afternoon and managed to push for some good overall times. I’m feeling good with my riding and we’ve made some small changes to the bike which have worked well. I’m stoked!”

Kyron Bacon (Kawasaki): “I’ve had a really good start to the championship and it’s great to get two wins this early on. It’s a long season and anything can happen, but the bike feels great and I’m really happy with my riding. I stayed consistent all day and made a lot less mistakes, so I managed to get into the top 10 overall on a few of the tests. I’m looking forward to the next round already!”

Francesca Nocera (Honda): “I had another really good day today! I struggled a bit on the first test and lost some time, but I was determined to fight for the win again and go home as the championship leader. I felt really comfortable with the bike and was able to find my rhythm, so it has been a perfect start to the season.”

Elizabeth Tett (TM MOTO): “The racing was a lot closer today, but I’m really happy to have still managed to take the win. The weather definitely helped today, as well as doing one less lap. I was only hoping for a podium coming into the first round, so to come away with two wins is amazing. The next round is a home race for me in Rhayader, and I can’t wait!”

Josep Garcia Tops The EnduroGP Podium On Day One At GP Of Portugal

Day one at the opening round of the 2025 Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship saw Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia claim the overall victory in Fafe, Portugal. Despite returning from injury, the Spaniard put in an impressive performance to take the top step of the podium over TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Zach Pichon, with Honda Racing RedMoto Enduro Team’s Steve Holcombe in third.

  • Reigning champion Garcia victorious in EnduroGP
  • Kyron Bacon wins Junior with Kawasaki
  • Enduro Women victory for Francesca Nocera

After a rain-soaked AKRAPOVIC Super Test on Friday night, which saw a surprise victory from SuperEnduro star Dominik Olszowy (RIEJU), the Portuguese weather improved for the first full day of racing on Saturday in Fafe. Characterised by impressive landscapes marked with huge boulders, the GP of Portugal is always a fan-favourite.

Josep Garcia wins EnduroGP on day one

Making his intentions clear from the off, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia came out swinging on the opening POLISPORT Extreme Test to win by over two seconds. Close behind him was Honda Racing RedMoto Enduro Team’s Steve Holcombe, with GASGAS Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona a further five seconds down.

The first ACERBIS Cross Test of the day saw Holcombe top the timesheets and take an early overall lead, with Verona hot on his heels just half a second behind. TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Zach Pichon came into contention, finishing third on the test and entering the podium battle.

Victorious on the GMOTO Enduro Test, Garcia closed the overall gap to Holcombe to just one second after the first lap of three.

Much like lap one, Garcia topped the POLISPORT Extreme Test second time around to reclaim the overall lead. Pichon had a blistering ride to finish second, edging out Verona by a mere two hundredths of a second. Settled into a rhythm and clearly playing to his strengths, reigning Enduro2 champion Verona then claimed two consecutive test wins to round out the second lap with an overall lead of seven seconds.

With two laps completed, just two seconds separated Holcombe and Garcia in second and third respectively. Pichon sat a further ten seconds behind. After a series of strong results, Sherco Factory Team’s Antoine Magain found himself in a close battle for fourth with teammate Hamish Macdonald.

Lap three belonged to Pichon, with the young Frenchman clocking the fastest time on two of the three tests. Holcombe closed out the day’s racing with a victory on the final GMOTO Enduro Test, but it was not enough for the Brit to secure the overall win.

Despite still recovering from a recent injury and surgery, Garcia proved that once again he is the one to beat in EnduroGP, claiming his first victory of the 2025 season by nearly five seconds, across what was an incredibly close day of racing.

Thanks to consistent top-three results and his last-lap test wins, Pichon was awarded second place overall on day one, overtaking Holcombe for the honour. The Brit was forced to settle for the final spot on the podium, just three seconds down on Pichon.

Despite clocking two test wins, Verona missed out on a podium finish by over 10 seconds. The GASGAS rider had a comfortable lead over fifth placed Hamish Macdonald, however, who finished the day just under a minute slower than Garcia.

Macdonald’s Sherco teammate Antoine Magain placed sixth, followed by Honda Racing RedMoto Enduro Team’s Samuele Bernardini in seventh and Fantic Factory Racing Team’s Albin Norrbin in eighth. Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team’s pairing of Mikael Persson and Jamie McCanney finished ninth and tenth respectively.

Francesca Nocera victorious in Enduro Women

The Expotrade FIM Women’s Enduro World Championship saw Francesca Nocera (Honda) race clear to victory, ending day one with five test wins and a lead of over one minute. The Italian held off RIEJU Factory Racing’s Rachel Gutish and Nieve Holmes (Sherco), who both claimed two test wins but finished second and third respectively.

Day one in Portugal marked the first full day of racing for the newly-formed Expotrade FIM Junior Women’s Enduro World Cup. Elizabeth Tett (TM MOTO), Lorna Lafont (Sherco), and Matilda Ahlstrom (Husqvarna) all claimed three test wins each, but it was Tett who ultimately came out on top. Elizabeth finished the day with a two-minute lead over Lafont, with Ahlstrom a further three minutes behind in third.

Sherco claim memorable Enduro3 podium lockout

In the Enduro3 class, it was a Sherco Factory Racing one-two-three, as 2024 championship runner-up Hamish Macdonald topped the timesheets ahead of teammates Antoine Magain and Julien Roussaly. Reigning Enduro3 champion Brad Freeman narrowly missed a podium finish by half a second.

Alongside his overall victory came the Enduro1 class win for Josep Garcia (KTM), with a huge advantage of over one minute. Samuele Bernardini (Honda) took the second spot on the podium, with Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team’s Mikael Persson rounding out the top three, an impressive feat in the British manufacturer’s debut EnduroGP race.

The Enduro2 category proved to be the most competitive on day one, with just 13 seconds separating the top three. Zach Pichon (TM MOTO) claimed the win ahead of Steve Holcombe (Honda), as Andrea Verona (GASGAS) finished third.

Hard-fought victory for Bacon in Junior

The Junior category proved to be as competitive as ever, with five different winners across the nine tests on day one in Fafe. MGR Kawasaki’s Kyron Bacon and Fantic Factory Racing Team’s Kevin Cristino both clocked three wins each, but it was the Tasmanian rider Bacon who ultimately came out on top by just over two seconds. Cristino was forced to settle for second as Leo Joyon (Beta), winner of the opening ACERBIS Cross Test, completed the top three.

In the Youth class it was Romain Dagna (KTM) who dominated, claiming seven out of nine test wins and building up a lead of half a minute. TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Alberto Elgari ended his day in second, with two test wins in the bag, followed by Fantic Factory Racing Team’s Pietro Scardina in third.

Josep Garcia (KTM): “It doesn’t feel real! One month ago I was in hospital having surgery on my collarbone, so I didn’t get on the bike until five days ago. My expectations weren’t this high so I’m very pleased, and I know I can do even better as I still made a lot of mistakes today. I’m looking forward to tomorrow as I’m feeling better on the bike with every hour I ride. I’m really happy!”

Zach Pichon (TM MOTO): “That was a really nice day to open the season! I had a difficult start to the day with a lot of mistakes, but I managed to bring it back by the end of the day and beat a lot of the top guys. I’m really happy to win Enduro2, and it’s my first overall EnduroGP podium ever which is quite special.”

Steve Holcombe (Honda): “Today was a bit difficult and one big mistake set me back quite a lot. I would have liked to have finished higher, but getting a podium on the first day of the season is a good position to be in. I definitely felt better on the last lap and I was improving, so overall I’m happy and looking forward to tomorrow.”

Hamish Macdonald (Sherco): “I’m really happy with the E3 win, it’s a solid start to the championship! It was a difficult day, the tests were relentless and I have no doubt tomorrow will be just as tough. I just try to stay as relaxed as possible, so hopefully we can do the same again tomorrow!”

Kyron Bacon (Kawasaki): “It’s great to get a win at round one, not just myself but for the team too. We’ve worked really hard to get to this point and I’m feeling very comfortable with the bike, my riding is a lot smoother which has helped me make less mistakes. I’m looking forward to getting back out there tomorrow!”

Francesca Nocera (Honda): “So that’s the first day done and I’m super happy to be back on the top of the podium! After a tough 2024 season, it feels amazing to win now. It was a great day and I pushed hard the whole time, even though the tests were quite tough in the changing weather.”

Elizabeth Tett (TM MOTO): “I had a great day, but it was hard in some places as just one mistake could change everything. The tests were good and I really enjoyed them, especially the extreme. It’s nice to be in a class with people more similar to my age, and I’m really happy to have taken the win!”

Triumph Motorcycles is preparing for a new chapter in its history this weekend at the opening round of the 2025 FIM EnduroGP World Championship in Fafe, Portugal, where the Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team will make its series debut with the newly launched TF 250-E.

Racing for Triumph in the Enduro1 category under the guidance of four-time world champion and Team Manager Paul Edmondson is the experienced duo of Jamie McCanney and Mikael Persson, who are excited to be lining up for the British manufacturer to compete in its inaugural season in EnduroGP.

Manxman McCanney joins the Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team with a wealth of experience thanks to his distinguished career so far. A former Youth and Junior World Champion, the 30-year-old has secured runner-up finishes in Enduro2 and Enduro1, and was a key contributor in Team Great Britain’s International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) victory in 2022. Last year, McCanney claimed four podiums in the E1 class before an injury cut his season short. Now, Jamie will compete in E1 aboard the TF 250-E and is ready to make an impact during Triumph’s debut season.

Swedish rider Mikael Persson brings an abundance of experience to the Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team. A proven contender on the world stage, the 30-year-old finished as runner-up in the Enduro3 World Championship in 2022 and 2023, and topped the E3 class at the 2022 ISDE in France. After competing in E2 last year, Persson will now contest the E1 category in 2025, bringing his talent and adaptability to the British manufacturer’s EnduroGP campaign.

Leading the team is Paul Edmondson, an ultra-experienced, former multi-time world champion who has been involved in Triumph’s off-road project from the very beginning. Already in 2025, under Paul’s leadership, Triumph Factory Racing achieved success in its first ever FIM SuperEnduro World Championship campaign, with Jonny Walker securing multiple podiums and a race win to clinch an impressive second overall in the series. The team aims to carry this momentum into the upcoming EnduroGP season, with Jamie and Mikael both feeling confident following a positive pre-season testing programme.

Last week, Triumph Motorcycles officially unveiled the newly developed TF 250-E and TF 450-E models, marking a bold entry into the competitive enduro market and an entirely new segment for the British manufacturer, having launched its motocross range last year.

The FIM EnduroGP season opener in Portugal will also host the bike’s first official public unveiling this weekend. The series travels to seven events in total including stops in Spain and Sweden in May. A key highlight will be the team’s home round at the GP of Wales in Rhayader on 1st-3rd August, before the championship heads to France in September, then Italy and Germany to conclude the season in October.

Jamie McCanney

“I’m really looking forward to the 2025 season and being part of the Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team! Last year was cut very short for me after injury, but I started riding again in January, and since being back we’ve been working hard together with our testing programme to be ready for the upcoming EnduroGP season. I’ve been working with Triumph alongside Paul for over three years now, so it’s great to have gone from the initial testing and durability phase as the bike was being designed, all the way through to now racing the bike in the world championship. It’s exciting to be part of something completely new, and to be part of Triumph’s history – and it’s also great for the enduro series. It’s still early days when it comes to racing, but I’m sure we will progress as the season goes on and hopefully get some good results!”

Mikael Persson

“Coming into 2025 with Triumph is really exciting, and pre-season testing has gone really well. We’re looking forward to getting going at the first GP and for everyone to see Triumph’s enduro bike competing in the EnduroGP World Championship. From a racing perspective, I’ve been working hard to recover from an Achilles injury while also developing the new bike, but I’m feeling positive and really looking forward to Portugal. It’s hard to set a solid personal goal for this year right now, but we’ll see where we are at come the start of the season and continue to build from there. It’s exciting, and I’m really looking forward to not only my home round in Sweden, but also Triumph’s home round in the UK!”

Paul Edmondson – Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team Manager

“For 2025 I’m really excited to get going with the new team in EnduroGP and bring my riders along with me. Everyone has worked unbelievably hard to be ready, and I must say a big thanks to all involved. Both Jamie and Mikael are the perfect fit for the team, bringing plenty of experience along with rider quality. It’s a proud moment for the Triumph programme and to get the enduro project now at the next step. I’m confident the results will arrive early on during this year, especially after our great pre-season test programme.”

Ian Kimber – Triumph Head of Global Racing Programmes

“The step into the EnduroGP championship marks the start of another exciting chapter for Triumph. Bringing in Paul, who has been involved since the start of our off-road development project, to head up our factory racing Enduro team was a natural step with his wealth of knowledge, and he has brought with him two quality riders in Jamie and Mikael. This weekend is another historic moment for the brand, as we race the FIM EnduroGP World Championship for the first time with the TF 250-E platform, which was launched to the public last week. There’s been a lot of work going on behind the scenes, and I’m excited to see what both riders can do this year as we continue build the Enduro racing programme.”

Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship ready to open 2025 season in Portugal

The 2025 Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship kicks off this weekend with the opening round in Fafe, Portugal, from 4-6 April. Marking the first of seven rounds on this year’s calendar, the GP of Portugal will set the tone for the season as the world’s best riders go head-to-head in the fight for the top step of the podium.

  • FIM EnduroGP season set to get underway in Portugal
  • EnduroGP will take place across seven rounds in 2025
  • Over 11 factory-supported teams and 136 riders entered

Fafe excited to host EnduroGP season opener once again

Eagerly anticipated, the opening round of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship marks the first major test for 2025. Having opened the season in 2024, the northern Portuguese city of Fafe will once again play host to round one this weekend.

A bumper entry of riders and teams is set to arrive in Fafe from Wednesday in preparation for three days of exciting racing. Friday’s AKRAPOVIC Super Test will be hotly contested as competitors look to gain an early jump on their rivals. Adding to the excitement of Friday, Triumph Motorcycles will be officially welcomed into the EnduroGP paddock with a full unveiling of their all-new TF 250-E and TF 450-E enduro motorcycles.

Well-known for its distinctive, rugged landscape, Fafe and its surrounding mountains offer a true test of enduro terrain to open the championship. Across both Saturday and Sunday, riders will take on a 56-kilometre course, with three laps scheduled for EnduroGP, Junior and Youth categories, while Women, Junior Women and Open will complete two laps.

Each lap will feature three special tests: ACERBIS Cross Test, GMOTO Enduro Test and the POLISPORT Extreme test. A test of outright speed, the ACERBIS Cross Test offers riders a chance to show their pace, while the GMOTO Enduro Test requires a balance of technical ability and speed to master. Always a spectacular sight in Portugal due to its gigantic boulders, the POLISPORT Extreme Test will push the rider’s technical skills to the maximum as they battle to deliver a mistake-free run under intense pressure.

Garcia set to begin defence of EnduroGP crown

At the head of the EnduroGP class, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia arrives to Fafe as the defending champion. A formidable racer, the Spaniard will look to get his season off to a winning start. However, Garcia is just recently recovered from a collarbone injury and round one will mark his first time in competitive action.

Honda Racing RedMoto Enduro Team’s Steve Holcombe will look to capitalise on any weakness in Garcia. A race-winner in Fafe in 2024, Holcombe’s pace is strong, and having moved from Enduro1 to Enduro2, and onto a CRF300X Enduro, the nine-time world champion will want to open his 2025 account with a victory.

So too will GASGAS Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona. A change in machinery during the offseason sees the Enduro2 World Champion now campaign the GASGAS EC 450F. The extra power over his 350 four-stroke could be a key factor on the ACERBIS Cross Test for the Italian.

Beta Factory Enduro Team’s Brad Freeman is another rider coming off the injury list heading into round one. The 10-time world champion ended 2024 with an overall win and would love to begin his 2025 season in the same fashion. Always determined to succeed, the Enduro3 World Champion will be one to watch in Fafe.

Looking to challenge for the podium will also be Freeman’s teammate Nathan Watson. With a programme unchanged from 2024, the Brit is always at his best when he’s most relaxed.

France’s Zach Pichon was one of the high-profile rider transfers during the offseason. Moving from Sherco Factory Team to TM MOTO BOANO Factory Enduro Team, the Frenchman has immediately looked happy and fast in his new colours. Now on the TM 300 4T, this could be the move Pichon needs to become a regular fixture among the top five or better in EnduroGP.

New Zealand’s Hamish MacDonald leads the charge of Sherco Factory Team into round one. MacDonald ended 2024 seventh in EnduroGP, while challenging for Enduro3 honours. Alongside teammate Jeremy Sydow (Enduro1), Theo Espinasse (Enduro2) and Antoine Magain (Enduro3), Sherco are well-represented across all senior classes.

Excitement as Triumph set to debut in world enduro

New arrivals to the EnduroGP paddock for 2025 are Triumph Racing Factory Team. The British manufacturer will run two riders in EnduroGP and Enduro1 with Jamie McCanney and Mikael Persson. Both are vastly experienced and will look to give Triumph an EnduroGP debut to remember.

Some offseason shakeups will see Fantic Factory Racing Team field Jed Etchells in Enduro1, with Albin Norrbin taking on Enduro2, and Matteo Pavoni lining out in Enduro3.

Finally, FIM Junior Enduro World Champion Max Ahlin steps up to EnduroGP and Enduro2 with Team KTM Pro Racing Sport. The young Swede will be hungry to mix it with the best this weekend.

Race is on for first-time Women’s Enduro World Champion

In the four-round Expotrade FIM Women’s Enduro World Championship, the way is cleared for a first-time champion to emerge from the 2025 season. With 2024 champion Mireia Badia calling time on her professional racing career, she won’t defend her crown. A competitive field of women are entered for the season opener in Fafe.

Vice-champion to Badia, it’s the United States’ Rachel Gutish who starts as the early favourite. Now Rieju-mounted, Gutish claimed three wins in 2024, despite it being her rookie season in EnduroGP. With a year’s worth of experience under her belt, she is aiming for the top step of the podium.

Chasing her hard will be Rieju Factory Team’s Rosie Rowett. The Brit ended 2024 in third overall, and would love to race for the world title. After a season curtailed by injury, Honda Racing RedMoto Enduro Team’s Francesca Nocera returns hungry to fight for the title that slipped from her grasp. Finishing on the podium in Fafe 12 months ago, she will be determined to start her year strong again.

Adding in Maria San Miguel (Rieju), Nieve Holmes (Sherco), Justine Martel (Beta) and Marie Holt (KTM), ensures a place inside the top five will be hotly contested.

New for 2025 is the addition of the Expotrade FIM Junior Women’s Enduro World Cup. Running alongside the four-round senior women’s category, it provides a prefect stepping stone for riders under the age of 23 to compete at world championship level enduro.

In total, there are five riders from France, Germany, Great Britain and Sweden entered. Lorna Lafont (Sherco), Lea Meier (Sherco), Elizabeth Tett (TM MOTO), Delun Davies (Fantic) and Matilda Ahlstrom (Husqvarna) will all aim to become the first race winner of the category this weekend.

Junior category fiercely contested

With almost 30 entries in the FIM Junior Enduro World Championship, the stage is set for a fiercely competitive season. Always a difficult category to predict, it will be exciting to see who can emerge from Fafe as an early favourite.

Finishing second and third in 2024, the Fantic Factory Racing Team pairing of Axel Semb and Kevin Cristino will be both determined to take over from Ahlin. Semb was a winner in Fafe last year and will hope to replicate that form once again this weekend.

Thibault Giraudon (Sherco), a race winner in 2024, and Leo Joyon (Beta), will be riders to watch for, alongside Alex Puey (Rieju). Following his double victory at the GP of Slovakia, Australia’s Kyron Bacon joins the championship full-time in 2025 with MGR Kawasaki. As the FIM Youth Enduro World Champion, Manuel Verzeroli joins Junior with TM MOTO BOANO Factory Enduro Team.

Youth class look to shine in Fafe

Already looking super-competitive, the Youth class is brimming with the next generation of enduro talent ready to shine through. Pietro Scardina (Fantic), Romain Dagna (KTM), Alberto Elgari (TM MOTO), Hugo Vukcevic (Sherco), Sam Hughes (KTM), Rees Jones (GASGAS) and Liam Sanjuan (GASGAS) are just some of the 20 riders from nine nationalities competing in Youth.

The opening round of the 2025 Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship takes place in Fafe, Portugal, from 4-6 April. Racing begins on Friday evening with the AKRAPOVIC Super Test.

Max Ahlin talks pressure management as the FIM Junior Enduro World Champion joins EnduroGP for 2025

Team KTM Pro Racing Sport’s Max Ahlin begins his most challenging season yet with the FIM Junior Enduro World Champion stepping up to EnduroGP for 2025…

To reach the very top of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship, speed alone is not enough. It’s about maximising your performance on every type of terrain imaginable, while being super-consistent on upwards of 12 special tests and seven hours of riding to reach the podium on any given day.

You then need to replicate that across seven rounds and 14 days of racing to be in the hunt for a world title. It’s anything but easy, and the higher you climb the ladder, the harder it becomes.

So, it’s well known that the very best riders have become masters at handling pressure. They’ve learned to manage it in a way that ultimately translates into winning races, and championships. Even when the odds are against them, they figure out a way to overcome.

As the reigning FIM Junior Enduro World Champion, Team KTM Pro Racing Sport’s Max Ahlin is currently on that journey as he steps up to the senior ranks of EnduroGP and Enduro2 for the first time.

“The top guys, you know, they never fail,” says Max. “Of course they crash, but they are always competitive on every test and every condition. And that is what I need to figure out!

“I know my top speed is good. I am happy with that, but I know I need to work on my consistency, both over a day and a complete season. When I look at the overall picture, I had the speed to be in the top 10 in EnduroGP on my best tests, but in others, I was around the top 20.”

An outstanding 2024 season of becoming world champion, while also helping the Swedish Junior team to victory in the 6DAYS® Enduro of Nations, has helped him piece together a complete day of racing, and understand delivering under pressure.

“I feel that last year became a major turning point for me in handling pressure,” continues Max. “In the past, I have won European and Swedish Junior titles but had struggled with that end-of-season pressure.

“I always wanted to become a world champion. I felt that if I didn’t do it in 2024 then it would become harder to do in the future. But after round one, when I finished seventh, that initial pressure faded because in a way I felt like I’d already lost. But maybe that was exactly what I needed to happen.

“After my double victory in Romania, I had raced my way back into contention. I saw that I could compete at my best level under pressure. That was a turning point in my mindset. Things rolled from there and we won the title in France. I then raced the ISDE for Sweden and we won Junior. I was able to do a decent race for six days without major error.”

As he readies himself to debut in the EnduroGP class this week in Fafe, Portugal, the familiar surroundings of Team KTM Pro Racing Sport also brings comfort for the challenge ahead.

“Within the team, we are really comfortable,” confirms Max. “I’ve been with them since 2023, with the same mechanic Stefano, and team manager Alex Belometti. Alex has huge experience from his own racing career, he understands so much, and with Stefano being open-minded too, that’s what makes it good. As a team we always have open conservation about how to improve things, but there is no expectation to deliver.

“My goal this year is to become as good as I can possibly be as a rider. We’re going to focus more on how far I am away from the top and track my progress during the year. For sure, it’s exciting and nervous heading into round one, but we’ll see what it brings!”

Manuel Verzeroli: FIM Youth Enduro World Champion ready to join Junior Enduro for 2025

As the opening round of the 2025 Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship fast approaches next week, it brings with it a new wave of excitement and anticipation, with many riders set to debut in new teams and classes.

For 2024 FIM Youth Enduro World Champion Manuel Verzeroli, April 4 is a date that marks a whole new chapter in the young Italian’s blossoming career. Signing with TM MOTO BOANO Factory for 2025, the 19-year-old has his sights on setting the world alight in the FIM Junior Enduro World Championship.

An Italian rider on an Italian team, racing Italian machinery, already sounds like a perfect match, and is one Manuel agrees can help him reach a new level in his riding.

“I’m excited for 2025,” says Manuel ahead of next week’s EnduroGP opener in Fafe, Portugal. “It’s a new chapter for me joining TM MOTO BOANO Factory. Already, I feel very, very good with all the guys.”

Under the watchful eye of Jarno Boano and team sports director Deny Philippaerts, TM MOTO BOANO Factory offer Manuel the platform he needs to hit the ground running.

“TM MOTO are a very serious company, who have a lot of desire to work hard, try new products and find new things to improve the bike. Jarno and Deny are very, very experienced in this world too. I definitely have a long way to go with them, and if we work hard, we can compete!”

Having won the Youth title with a round to spare, Manuel gave us an early glimpse of his pace in the Junior class, when he joined it for the season-ending GP of France.

A last-minute decision saw him campaign a 250 four-stroke in Brioude, but with a full winter to reflect and test, he’s made the decision to race the TM 250 2T full-time in 2025.

“I found the GP of France to be a tough race for me,” admits Manuel. “I hadn’t ridden the 250 four-stroke much, and ultimately needed more time on the bike for that race. But I really enjoyed the race and experience. I gained an understanding of how things would be this year on a more powerful bike.

“During the winter we tested a lot, both on the two-stroke and four-stroke bikes. I enjoyed each of them, but in the end, I decided the TM 250 2T would be the best option for me this year. It has similar characteristics to the 125 two-stroke, which will hopefully help make my first year in Junior easier.”

As the transition from Youth to Junior ramps up, what’s next for our reigning FIM Youth Enduro World Champion? Has the taste of success motivated him to push harder to achieve it again?

“Yes, certainly becoming world champion in 2024 motivates me, but I have to work hard every day to achieve my goals.

“It certainly won’t be easy to pass with the ‘big guys’, but I feel good with the bike, and I really want to work with the whole team to be up there one day!”

The opening round of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship takes place in Fafe, Portugal on April 4-6.

The historic city is located in the heart of the beautiful Lombardy region in northern Italy, at the foot of the Alps. The world-famous Valli Bergamasche will be the main theatre of the race, featuring technical terrain with breathtaking liaisons and special tests that are perfectly suited for the ninety ninth edition of the 6DAYS® FIM Enduro of Nations.

Last year AIROHrenewed its contract for the following three editions of the 6DAYS® – including the centenary event in 2026 – and to mark this ongoing relationship AIROH will once again produce its legendaryLimited Edition AIROH 6DAYS® Aviator 3 that will feature striking new graphics and a colour scheme inspired by the iconic Valli Bergamasche and Bergamo region.

Angela Locatelli, AIROH Sponsorship and Events Manager, said: “For ten years we have been FIM partners for the 6DAYS®, a long-standing collaboration that means a lot to us. It allows us to support one of the most important and exciting events of the year – an essential moment of connection and passion that brings us closer to riders and enthusiasts alike.

“This year, in particular, it is an honour to actively participate in the 6DAYS® Italia which will be held in Bergamo – our city, our home. We are truly excited to experience all the emotions that only an event of this calibre can provide and we can’t wait to unveil the tenth official 6DAYS® helmet.”

Fabio Muner, the FIM Marketing and Digital Director, stated: “I cannot think of a better place to mark the tenth consecutive year of the ongoing association between the FIM and AIROH than in AIROH’s home city of Bergamo. The exciting new design is for now still top secret, but I am confident it will continue in the tradition of combining cutting-edge style with state-of-the-art technology, resulting in a must-have helmet for both collectors and racers. On behalf of the FIM I would like to thank Airoh and all its team again for their ongoing commitment to the 6DAYS®.”
