The FIM MX Academy continued to strengthen its global development mission throughout 2025, delivering a comprehensive calendar of training programmes designed to support local motocross trainers through education and structured development tools. These programmes enable trainers to guide and train young motocross athletes, while also supporting their parents throughout the development pathway.

Building on the momentum highlighted by the MXGP Academy’s strong start in Estonia and the successful 2025 MXGP Women’s Academy in Ernée, the season showcased the Academy’s ongoing commitment to structured education, inclusivity and long-term growth.
A Global Calendar of Development Activities
In 2025, the FIM MX Academy implemented four major on-site programmes across Europe, South America and Asia, reflecting its truly international scope.
The season opened from 4–6 April in Estonia, where the MTC (Motocross Training Club) Programme brought together 12 trainers and 12 young riders. This opening session set the tone for the year, focusing on riding technique, safety and coaching methodology.
The programme continued from 17–19 October in Jinin, Czech Republic, with another MTC session involving 9 trainers and 15 riders. This event reinforced the Academy’s developmental pathway, placing strong emphasis on coach–rider interaction and practical training modules adapted to national contexts.

From 6–8 November, the MX Academy moved to Ecuador, delivering an MTC programme involving 7 trainers and 7 riders. This event underlined the FIM’s commitment to supporting emerging motocross regions by providing direct access to elite-level education and international best practices.

The final activity of the year took place from 26–28 November in Thailand, where the Academy delivered an RTC (Regional Training Centre) programme exclusively for trainers and local FMNs. The objective was to support them in bringing greater structure to their national programmes, in line with the FIM’s “pyramid of success”, with the ultimate goal of developing local and national motocross selection programmes within the next two years.

With 5 trainers participating, this session focused on advanced coaching concepts, programme continuity and knowledge transfer, reinforcing the trainers’ role as long-term ambassadors of the FIM MX Academy.
Strengthening the Trainer Community
Beyond rider development, a key pillar of the FIM MX Academy is the cultivation of a strong and connected coaching community. Since its creation, the programme has educated more than 300 trainers worldwide, contributing significantly to the professionalisation and harmonisation of motocross coaching standards across continents.
This philosophy was further reinforced through dedicated trainer meetings. In 2025, two meetings were organised in Riga and Malaga, both held in December 2025, bringing together 28 participants from 5 countries. These meetings were designed to strengthen relationships among trainers who had already completed previous Academy programmes, while creating valuable opportunities for experience sharing, reflection and continuous professional development.

The overarching goal of these initiatives is to ensure continuity: maintaining engagement with trained coaches, encouraging the exchange of ideas across regions, and fostering a sustainable learning environment that evolves alongside the sport.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As part of the MX Academy’s ongoing development pathway, the FIM is hosting the Balkan Area Regional Training Centre (RTC) and National Selection programme yesterday and today. The programme brings together 9 trainers from 6 different countries. This initiative further strengthens regional cooperation and reinforces the Academy’s structured approach to identifying, educating, and supporting talent at all levels, with a view toward continued development in 2026.

A Long-Term Vision for Motocross Development
Aligned with the broader objectives of the FIM Academy and the MX Academy initiatives, the 2025 season demonstrated a clear commitment to long-term development through education, inclusivity and international collaboration. By combining MX trainer education, rider training and education, coach development and community-building activities, the FIM, with the support of the MX Academy, continues to play a central role in shaping the future of motocross worldwide.
