Bertram Thorius and Gennaro Utech‘s debut for the Fantic Factory Racing EMX team was encouraging. “The Internationals are the first test to see what level we’ve reached with our XX 125s equipped with the Fantic Racing kit. We’ve had positive feedback on the starts: Bertram Thorius started in the top three twice and finished the second race with an excellent second place, demonstrating good growth over the winter and already good speed. We hope the improvement continues ahead of the EMX125 European Championship. Despite a few too many crashes, Gennaro Utech demonstrated the grit and technique to recover, finishing fifth overall thanks to a good fourth place in race 2, which gives us confidence,” emphasized Guarneri.

Just four points separated Utech from the podium today, despite being forced to chase the pack after an unlucky start in race 1. Another opportunity will arise in a week, with the second round of the Internazionali d’Italia scheduled for Mantua.

It’s a shame about a few mistakes in race 1, with a crash at the start and another slide on the first lap. “My first race with Fantic went well. I got off to a strong start twice, and that’s already a great foundation. The speed was there. I had a small problem in the first moto, but that happens in motocross. The important thing is that we took home a nice second place in race 2. All in all, I’m very happy with this season debut.”

Esordio di Bertram Thorius e Gennaro Utech con i colori del team Fantic Factory Racing EMX è stato incoraggiante. “Gli Internazionali sono il primo banco di prova per vedere a che livello siamo arrivati con le nostre XX 125 con il kit Fantic Racing. Abbiamo avuto riscontri positivi sulle partenze: Bertram Thorius è partito due volte nei primi tre e ha concluso la seconda manche con un’ottima seconda posizione, dimostrando una bella crescita durante l’inverno e una velocità già buona. Speriamo che il miglioramento continui in vista dell’Europeo EMX125. Nonostante qualche scivolata di troppo, Gennaro Utech ha dimostrato di avere grinta e tecnica per rimontare, chiudendo quinto assoluto grazie a un buon quarto posto in gara 2 che dà fiducia”, sottolinea Guarneri.

Appena quattro punti hanno separato Utech dal podio di giornata, nonostante fosse stato costretto a inseguire il gruppo dopo una partenza sfortunata in gara 1. Tra una settimana si presenterà già un’altra occasione, con il secondo round degli Internazionali d’Italia in programma a Mantova.

“La mia prima gara con Fantic è andata bene. Sono partito forte due volte e questa è già un’ottima base. La velocità c’era. Nella prima manche ho avuto un piccolo problema, ma succede nel motocross. L’importante è che abbiamo portato a casa un bel secondo posto in gara 2. Tutto sommato, sono molto felice di questo esordio stagionale.”
