DOUBLE PODIUM FOR TRIUMPH FACTORY RACING AT MXGP ROUND ONE

DOUBLE PODIUM FOR TRIUMPH FACTORY RACING AT MXGP ROUND ONE

Sun 08 Mar 2026

Triumph Factory Racing has enjoyed a fantastic start to the 2026 FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship, with both Guillem Farres and Camden McLellan standing on the overall podium in second and third, respectively. Competing aboard their TF 250-X machinery in Argentina for the season opener, the teammates were in fine form all weekend, with their podium results the perfect reward for their efforts.

Clearly at one with his Triumph machine and enjoying the fast, rough, and rugged Bariloche circuit, Farres was in excellent form at round one of the 2026 campaign. After finishing second in the MX2 Qualifying Race, the Spaniard lined up for the Grand Prix races full of confidence.

As the gate dropped for race one, Farres reacted quickly, and emerged from the first turn in sixth. Guillem was soon up to fourth, and he held his position for the entire race until he moved into third on the penultimate lap.

Race two was similar to moto one for Guillem. After executing another strong start, he held third early in the race until he went off track and slipped back to fifth. Delivering a late-race charge, he moved into fourth to secure second overall on the day, and second in the championship standings after round one.

McLellan also enjoyed a solid weekend in Argentina to make it a Grand Prix to remember for Triumph Factory Racing. A fall from sixth in race one did little to deter the South African, who dropped to ninth after the incident, before making his way back up the leaderboard to sixth at the finish.

The 21-year-old was seventh early on in moto two and made several decisive passes throughout the race to claim second. The result ensured McLellan placed third overall, sharing the podium with teammate Farres to kick off the season on an incredibly positive note.

With an exceptional result for Triumph Factory Racing at round one, the team will now enjoy a weekend off before heading to Spain for the MXGP of Andalucia on March 21-22.

Guillem Farres

“I was a bit cautious in the opening laps of the opening moto. As the race went on though, I started to feel better and found a good rhythm, which helped me work my way up to third, so I was happy with that result. In the second race my start wasn’t the best, but I made some quick passes early on and moved into third. I was battling with a few riders and pushing hard, but after a small mistake where I ran off the track I lost a bit of ground. From there I focused on bringing it home and ended up finishing fourth.”

Camden McLellan

“It was a good weekend for us here in Argentina, finishing third overall and sharing a double podium for the team with Guillem in second, which is a great way to start the season. Sunday was definitely better for me. I still struggled a bit with the starts, but I managed to make up ground quickly in the opening corners. In the first race I found a good rhythm and started closing in on the top three, but a small mistake and a crash cost me a lot of time. I fought back well after that and finished just outside the top five. In the second race I had a slightly better start and was able to work my way through the field, making several passes and pushing hard all the way to the end. I closed in on the riders ahead but just ran out of time. Overall, it’s a solid way to begin the year, and now the focus is on keeping that consistency and staying off the ground.”

Vincent Bereni – Monster Energy Triumph Racing Team Manager

“Quite a good start for the team, for Triumph, and the riders. We changed quite a lot of things this winter as a team with the riders and the equipment. There were a few things that we studied last year and this has helped us to make the bike even better. So overall, this weekend was quite positive. We came down to being a few points away from leading the championship, but that’s the only negative from the weekend. But, the double podium, that’s some more history for Triumph so it’s been a great weekend overall and now it’s onto Spain.”

Ian Kimber – Head of Global Racing Programmes, Triumph Motorcycles

“What a way to start our season. Argentina is pretty special for our MX2 team, so to see both the lads on the box is incredible. Congratulations to both Camden and Guillem, and to the team! It’s a testament to the work in the preseason testing to ensure that everything had the best possible preparation before the race. Here’s looking forward to the rest of the season!”
