First stage, first podium for Bertram Thorius

First stage of the EMX125 European Championship, first podium for Bertram Thorius riding the Fantic XX 125! A fantastic start to the season for the 15-year-old Danish talent, author of a wonderful victory of heats in race 2.

Thorius’ pace was already excellent in race 1, but he lost some positions due to a fall, still managing to finish eighth. Started in the group of the first in race 2, it took only one lap to take the lead. He led the race with maturity for the entire duration of the heat, responding with determination to the attacks of his direct opponents and crossing the finish line in first position. A heat victory that allowed him to also win third place overall – his first podium in his career and yet another trophy for the Fantic Factory Racing EMX team led by Daniele Marchese.

Half smile for Gennaro Utech: the young Sicilian got off to a great start, scoring the fastest time in his qualifying group. The premises were excellent, but unfortunately a fall at the start immediately extrused him from the games in race 1. Despite a cut on the cheek, sutured with four points, on Sunday he responded with determination, winning a good fifth place in the heat.

Bertram Thorius:

“An incredible day, I’m so happy to have won my first heat win and my first podium! Even on Saturday the pace was there, but I didn’t shoot very well and I also slipped. Today instead I started very well, in the first five, I took the lead and I drove well. I was in the lead of a European EMX125 race for the first time and in the last five minutes I was almost shaking with emotion. I am very happy to have managed to win and it is also a great satisfaction to give this podium to the team and to my mechanic Roberto who had a physical problem. We are in a good position, now we continue to work.”

“The weekend started well, with the best time in my group: we lined up second, but in a bad fall at the start I had a cut on a cheek and they had to give me four points. Sunday went much better: I started well, at a certain point I passed third, but also due to a bit of hardening of the forearms I lost a couple of positions. However, we ended the weekend with a good fifth place in race 2.”

Prima tappa, primo podio per Bertram Thorius

Prima tappa del Campionato Europeo EMX125, primo podio per Bertram Thorius in sella alla Fantic XX 125! Un avvio di stagione fantastico per il 15enne talento danese, autore di una splendida vittoria di manche in gara 2.

Il passo di Thorius era ottimo già in gara 1, ma ha perso alcune posizioni a causa di una caduta, riuscendo comunque a chiudere ottavo. Partito nel gruppo dei primi in gara 2, ci ha messo solo un giro per prendere il comando. Ha condotto la corsa con maturità per tutta la durata della manche, rispondendo con determinazione agli attacchi dei suoi diretti avversari e tagliando il traguardo in prima posizione. Una vittoria di manche che gli ha permesso di conquistare anche il terzo posto assoluto – il suo primo podio in carriera e l’ennesimo trofeo per il team Fantic Factory Racing EMX guidato da Daniele Marchese.

Sorriso a metà per Gennaro Utech: il giovane siciliano ha iniziato alla grande, segnando il tempo più veloce nel suo gruppo di qualifiche. Le premesse erano ottime, ma purtroppo una caduta in partenza lo ha subito estromesso dai giochi in gara 1. Nonostante un taglio alla guancia, suturato con quattro punti, domenica ha risposto con grinta, conquistando un buon quinto posto di manche.

Bertram Thorius:
“Una giornata incredibile, sono felicissimo di aver conquistato la mia prima vittoria di manche e il mio primo podio! Anche sabato il passo c’era, però non sono scattato benissimo e sono anche scivolato. Oggi invece sono partito molto bene, nei primi cinque, ho preso il comando e ho guidato bene. Ero in testa a una gara dell’Europeo EMX125 per la prima volta e negli ultimi cinque minuti stavo quasi tremando dall’emozione. Sono molto contento di essere riuscito a vincere ed è una grande soddisfazione anche regalare questo podio al team e al mio meccanico Roberto che ha avuto un problema fisico. Siamo in una buona posizione, adesso continuiamo a lavorare.”

Gennaro Utech:
“Il weekend è iniziato bene, con il miglior tempo nel mio gruppo: ci siamo schierati secondi, ma in una brutta caduta in partenza ho riportato un taglio a una guancia e mi hanno dovuto mettere quattro punti. Domenica è andata decisamente meglio: sono partito bene, a un certo punto sono passato terzo, ma anche a causa di un po’ di indurimento degli avambracci ho perso un paio di posizioni. Abbiamo comunque concluso il weekend con un buon quinto posto in gara 2.”
