FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy set for tenth edition with Germany’s Zschopau as host
Celebrating its tenth edition, the FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy (EVT) will take place in Zschopau, Germany, from 29 September to 3 October. Steeped in Enduro heritage, the town of Zschopau will make a fitting location for this renowned annual gathering of classic enduro, with four-hundred-and-fifty competitors in attendance.
Zschopau has hosted Enduro races since 1955, with the annual “Rund um Zschopau” long regarded as one of Germany’s most important events. The 6DAYS® FIM Enduro of Nations visited the region in 2012, while the FIM EnduroGP World Championship has been held there multiple times, including the final round of the 2025 season. Now, thanks to the diligent efforts of the organising club MSC MZ Zschopau e.V. and ADAC, it is the turn of the FIM EVT to enjoy the region’s traditional enduro terrain offorest tracks, rocky trails and mud.
With four-hundred-and-fifty competitors from over seventeen nations entered, it is the historical site of the former DKW and MZ factory that will act as the event’s headquarters and service paddock. In the 1920s, it was home to the world’s largest motorcycle factory before eventually closing its doors in the early 2000s. Since then, it has been transformed to become the Deutsches Enduro Museum, which holds one of the world’s largest collections of vintage enduro motorcycles and memorabilia
On Tuesday, 29 September, competitors, teams and supporters will gather in the centre of Zschopau for the opening ceremony and nations parade to officially open the tenth edition of the FIM EVT. Racing then begins in earnest on Wednesday, 30 September, for Day One. Easing competitors into the week ahead, they will complete a short thirty-six kilometre liaison, which will also include the traditional, time-honoured acceleration test.
As always, Day Two and Day Three will be the most demanding of the FIM EVT. The route, approximately eighty kilometres in length, will see competitors complete two laps each day, with a total of two Cross Tests and one Enduro Test per lap. The fourth and final day of racing will take riders from Zschopau on a liaison to nearby Venusberg for the Final Special Test, where this year’s champions will be crowned.
In the prestigious Vintage Veteran Trophy competition, host nation Germany will start as the defending champions. With the support of their home crowd, they will be looking to make it a repeat victory in Zschopau. However, with seventeen nations and fifty-one riders contesting the Vintage Veteran Trophy class, the stage is set for arguably the most competitive edition yet.
As vice-champions for the past two years, France will be targeting the top step of the podium, along with Poland, who finished third overall in 2025. Former champions Italy will be aiming to regain the title they last held in 2024, while the United States and Australia are nations never to be counted out of medal contention. Factoring in Great Britain, Spain, Portugal, Slovakia, the Netherlands, and more, ensures a place inside the top-five will be hard fought for.
The popular Vintage Silver Vase, Vintage Club and Vintage Individual categories form the bulk of the four-hundred-and-fifty riders entered. Forty-seven teams are entered in the Vintage Silver Vase class, and sixty-seven teams are confirmed in the Vintage Club class. A further fifty-two entries in the Vintage Individual category ensures the tenth edition of the FIM EVT will be the most popular one yet.
