CAMDEN MCLELLAN WINS HIS THIRD GRAND PRIX OF THE SEASON WITH VICTORY IN THE NETHERLANDS

Sun 23 Aug 2026

Triumph Factory Racing’s Camden McLellan has won the MX2 class at the MXGP of The Netherlands courtesy of his 1-2 result in Arnhem. Series leader Guillem Farres also enjoyed a solid day, placing third in both races to maintain his lead at the top of the championship.

Having finished in the top three overall at the previous four rounds, including a Grand Prix victory in Belgium, McLellan was eager to maintain his late season form in The Netherlands. By placing second in the qualifying race, the stage was set for his streak to continue.

In the first moto, McLellan took full advantage of his strong start and maintained second place until the closing stages. When the race leader fell, the Triumph TF 250-X rider moved into the lead and went on to secure his fifth race win of the season.

McLellan wasn’t able to replicate his race one start in moto two and he completed the first lap in sixth. From there, a race-long charge followed, where he clawed his way forwards to cross the line in second. As a result, he claimed overall victory for the third time this season and remains third in the championship standings, now just 12 points behind second place.

MX2 World Championship leader Guillem Farres also performed well in The Netherlands. The Spaniard was super-consistent all weekend, placing third in the qualifying race and both Grand Prix motos. His 3-3 race results secured third overall, with the points scored over the weekend extending his series lead to 25 points with three rounds remaining.

In the MXGP class, Dirt Store Triumph’s Ben Watson once again impressed with a season-best result of sixth in race one on his way to 14th overall.

With one of the toughest Grands Prix of the season complete, the team will now regroup before the final leg of the series. The MXGP of Turkiye on September 5-6 is up next, followed by rounds in China and Australia.

Camden McLellan

“That was another awesome weekend. I had a really good start in the first race, my riding was strong, and I really enjoyed the race. In the second moto, my start wasn’t quite as good and the track was very difficult to pass on, so I had to put in a strong charge to get into second. From there, it was a one-on-one battle all the way to the end and I had a lot of fun. Like I said, it was another really enjoyable weekend with some close, fast racing, so I’m really happy with how everything went.”

Guillem Farres

“I’m happy with my performance, especially after the crash last weekend. I felt consistent in both races and it was good to put together a solid weekend and take home some valuable points. I felt comfortable on the bike and we made some good progress throughout the weekend. A big thanks to the whole team for all their hard work and support. Now we’ll keep working, keep building, and look to carry this consistency into the next round.”

Vincent Bereni – Triumph Factory Racing Team Manager
“Round 16 in The Netherlands was quite a challenging weekend, particularly with the bike setup because the track was very different to what we’ve had at the previous rounds. For Guillem, we found the right setup in time for the qualifying race on Saturday. He was happy with the bike and again showed good strength in that race. Camden also had a strong Saturday with second in the qualifying race. He was riding really well, showed great speed, and was happy with the bike. Going into Sunday, we had a strategy in place and overall it worked really well. Camden did an amazing job in the first moto and Guillem rode really well too. The track was incredibly demanding, and when you see the leaders lapping all the way up to eighth place, it shows just how tough the conditions were. I was very happy with both riders in the first moto, and in the second moto we saw some really good riding again. Overall, it was a great weekend. I also want to say a huge thank you to the whole team. It wasn’t an easy weekend, but once again everyone stepped up, worked incredibly hard, and did a really good job.”
