World Enduro Returns to Slovakia
Motorcycling, especially off-road disciplines, have deep roots and a long tradition in the Považie region. The town of Považská Bystrica and the Považské strojárne factory produced motorcycles that were shipped all over the world. This of course, also led to a boom in motorsports in the town and the region.
Undoubtedly, the most significant motorcycle racing events in Považská Bystrica were the four FIM International Six Day Enduro (ISDE) competitions held in 1977, 1982, 1991 and 2005.
Half a century after the first Six-Day event held in Považská Bystrica, world-class enduro will return to the Považie region in 2027.
The FIM ENDURO VINTAGE TROPHY 2027 will take place in Považská Bystrica and Sverepec from 25 August to 29 August 2027.
Považská Bystrica is well known worldwide not only for its motorcycle production, but also for its high-quality enduro competitions. The village of Sverepec and its National Motocross Centre, in turn, are well known for motocross – numerous European Championship and World Championship events have been held here.
This time, riders on historic motorcycles will take to the legendary tracks in the mountains around Považská Bystrica – which will evoke the heyday of motorcycles and motorsports in this region. The eleventh annual FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy international competition will then culminate with a final motocross race at theNational Motocross Centre in Sverepec.
We have a lot to look forward to – it is going to be another great enduro event in Považie that will put both riders and motorcycles from around the world to the test.
